Bred in the US, the parentage of Jonagold is Golden Delicious and Jonathan. It inherits good flavour from Jonathan and the ability to store well (2 months) from Golden Delicious. As is often the case with large apple varieties, it is a triploid apple requiring two other apple varieties for pollination.
