Prunus × blireana Tree
A spectacular small ornamental plum tree, Prunus × blireana produces a display of large, semi-double pink flowers in spring. The lightly scented pink blossom is abundant in late March or early April. Young foliage emerges at the same time with bronze-purple colouring and transforms to dark green.
Prunus × blireana will grow to 4 x 3 metres height and spread in 20 years, making it a great feature in a small garden or part of a border in larger gardens. Plant in full sun for the best blossom display and leaf colour. A moist yet well-draining soil is ideal. Blireana Plum has received the RHS Award of Garden Merit.
