Hinnonmaki Red Gooseberry Bush
Hinnonmaki Red gooseberry bush produces a heavy crop of large red gooseberries in mid July which have a sweet flesh and tangy skin. They are delicious eaten fresh from the tree, but can also be used for cooking.
Hinnonmaki Red benefits from being both hardy and self fertile, so doesn't require a pollination partner. It has a more upright growth habit than most Gooseberry bushes, reaching a height and spread of 1.5 x 1 metres in 10 years. Plant in full sun to partial shade.
